Not a club DJ but I DJ for an ice hockey team and these tracks go off. I also question the quality of DJ's you're seeing at festivals and venues if their transitions aren't great . The real money in DJing is weddings, corporate events, effectively So a few months ago I stumbled across this guy on youtube who in my opinion produces great content for DJ Beginners. However, if you really feel that a course is better suited to your style of learning then I recommend Crossfader, Club Ready DJ school or Digital DJ Tips :) A DJ plays music to entertain a crowd and your music wasn't entertaining (for this crowd). If a bigger club that already has a bunch of DJ's is your goal you might have to pick up free early gigs and/or work your way in doing lights for the DJ and cover for them when they need a break. You should've stopped playing when you noticed that your music didn't fit the crowd. You can diversify your sound or you can vet that the music you're playing fits the vibe of the gig.
